{"id":12550,"date":"2016-03-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hearandplay.com\/main\/?p=12550"},"modified":"2024-10-10T07:37:22","modified_gmt":"2024-10-10T15:37:22","slug":"60-common-seventh-chord-qualities-common","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hearplaymain.wpenginepowered.com\/60-common-seventh-chord-qualities-common\/","title":{"rendered":"What 60% of Common Seventh Chord Qualities Have In Common"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seventh chords are important in music the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hearandplay.com\/main\/triads-vs-seventh-chords\">same way triads are<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In this post, I\u2019ll be showing you an interval that is the secret link between 60% of the seventh chord qualities that are commonly used.<\/p>\n<h2>Review Of Seventh Chords<\/h2>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hearandplay.com\/main\/six-characteristic-features-of-intervals\">interval<\/a> is the relationship between two notes in terms of the distance between them.<br \/>\nEven though intervals can be used beyond the mere description of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hearandplay.com\/main\/beyond-distance-second-dimension-of-intervals\">distance between notes<\/a>, we\u2019re focusing on distances in this post.<\/p>\n<h3>Definition of Seventh Chords<\/h3>\n<p>Seventh chords span an interval (or distance) of seven scale degrees or a &#8220;seventh.&#8221; Thus, why they are called <em>seventh chords.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Formation of Seventh Chords<\/h3>\n<p>Scales produce [intervals and] chords.
